Health& Safety

As a party organiser – it is important that you ensure the safety of the children attending your event.

You may find that some painters hygiene standards are not up to scratch – meaning safety standards are compromised for all the children attending the event.

I take health, hygiene and safety very seriously and adhere to the following:

  • I clean my brushes regularly during painting, and they are sterilised when I get home.

  • I wash all my sponges in between paints on a high temperature wash to eliminate bacterial build up

  • I only ever use professional water based paints that are EU, EEC & FDA approved.  All the glitter I use is cosmetic grade.  All the products are hypo-allergenic.

  • If you are in any doubt with allergies please speak to me and I will perform a patch test.  If a child has ever had a reaction to facepaints before I would advise not to have them painted again, however children are more likely to react to soap or baby wipes used to remove the paint than the facepaint itself.

  • I cannot paint areas of broken or damaged skin, or children with other medical conditions which include; open wounds, cold sores, chicken pox, ecsima,  conjunctivitis, heavy cold - runny nose, sunburn, bruised areas or any other infected skin.  I can often adapt a design to avoid such issues, for example I could paint a eye mask design on someone with a grazed chin.

  • I always remove food stains and clean up runny noses before starting a paint with baby wipes.  If the child’s nose continues to run, then I will adapt the design so as not to irritate the skin underneath the nose or contaminate my paints.

  • I hold public liability insurance, as should any facepainter, or entertainer you employ, i also have a full CRB.
